Correcting Vehicle Paint Is An Art Form

Paint defects are extremely subjective, on a range from extremely obvious to painstakingly elusive. Restoring the paintwork of a vehicle that has collected damage over the years or even just in one area requires human touch and creative critical thinking - two characteristics that we foster deeply at Envy Executive Automotive Protection.

Paint correction is one of the first steps in automotive protection, as without a flawless paint job, there really isn’t much to glamorize about a vehicle. The beauty is what is hidden underneath the surface discrepancies, and our team of automotive artisans knows exactly what it takes to uncover the glory of your car, truck, or SUV.

We work on many different makes and models that populate the streets of West Berlin, New Jersey, implementing our three detailed paint correction packages all designed to remove scratches, swirl marks, oxidization, stains, and more. In doing so, we have developed both a systematic approach that has enough flexibility to handle any automotive detailing obstacle that comes our way.

The Envy Executive Coating Process

Heavy Cutting

First, we use a heavy cut compound coupled with a wool polishing pad abrasive enough to level off the clear coat. Most defects are actually divots in the factory clear coat over your paintwork, so this gently but accurately brings everything back down to the same level, effectively removing those defects.

Medium Compound

Using a medium density foam pad, the compound and process performed during this stage is what leaves your finish swirl-free and prepares the paint to really glow once the finish work is complete. Making sure no defects remain is really the goal during this stage as well.

Finish Polishing

Here is where we get to bask in the glory of perfect results! As we lightly polish your finish using a soft density pad and extremely gentle compound, the lustrous color of your ride shines through and looks better than ever before.

FAQs About Paint Correction at Envy Executive Automotive Professionals

  • Is my paint too damaged to be fixed?

This is a rather subjective question, actually. Our top-tier paint correction package aims to remove up to 90%+ of defects, which is a good portion. If a gauge in your paintwork is so deep it has cut through the paint itself, the solution often is to have that area repainted.

  • I’ve heard paint correction is abrasive. Does it damage my paint?

While there is certainly abrasion involved in removing paint defects, our team does this evenly across your whole vehicle. We utilize the most cutting edge automotive detailing technology and innovative techniques to ensure that once the process is complete, you will only stare in awe at how beautiful your finish looks.

  • Should I buy a paint protection film or ceramic coating following paint correction?

Yes, you should consider both actually! Our STEK Paint Protection Films are built to resist future defects like light scratching and marring, while a ceramic coating keeps it looking as glossy as it did the moment we finished the correction process.

  • Can Envy Executive Automotive Protection recommend the correct package?

We do an inspection prior to every paint correction service we perform, and if we notice your defects call for a more in-depth package than you have selected, or if your defects are not as severe as we thought, we will certainly guide you in the right direction.

Always Consider Correcting New Paint

Commercials about new vehicles may have you fooled, but we’re here to bring you back to Earth! No new vehicle has completely flawless paint whatsoever. In fact, much of the defects we correct here at Envy Executive Automotive Protection are found on brand new rides that the driver noticed had swirl marks, orange peel, or other aesthetic issues once they arrived home.

Damage can be done to a brand new vehicle as early as when it is first coming off the assembly line. Once it is transported to a dealership, the individuals who work there do not commonly use the exterior detailing techniques our team does at our shop, which can inflict further harshness to the surface gloss.

When we correct the paint of a brand new vehicle, we look at it under LED inspection light even more closely than one that has obvious defects. This is because much of the new gloss can really detract our attention away from the minor flaws, but those will always hold your vehicle back from ultimate paint greatness.
